Are you looking for the best online incorporation service, but you’re not sure which one is the right choice for you? Incfile and Incorporate.com are both services that can form an LLC or corporation on your behalf.
In this comparison, we’ll walk through the five main factors you need to consider when choosing between these services. Which one is the better overall option?

- Compared pricing and features to determine the overall value of each service.
- Researched their track record based on how many businesses they’ve formed.
- Assessed the quality of customer service based on customer reviews, as well as our own personal experience.
- Walked through the ordering process to determine each service’s ease of use.

Overall Pricing and Value
Incfile: For only $49, the lowest price we’ve seen, Incfile will help you form your business, while also providing a full year of registered agent service. Once the first year is over, the registered agent service will renew for $119 per year, which is a strong price point. In addition, their $149 Gold package and $299 Platinum package are both packed with valuable features that make them strong options as well, even at their higher price points.
Incorporate.com: Their cheapest formation package checks in at $99, and it is as barebones as they get, with no registered agent service or other features at all. Furthermore, their top two packages cost $634 and $734 after you add in all the additional fees associated with them. If you’re going to spend that much on your formation, you might as well just hire an attorney to form your company. Finally, their registered agent costs $235 per year, which is the highest price we’ve ever seen.
Winner = Incfile
This honestly isn’t even close. Incfile’s entry-level package is less than half as expensive as Incorporate.com’s, and it includes a full year of registered agent service. Furthermore, their top two formation packages are each hundreds of dollars cheaper. This category is a big win for Incfile.
Company Track Record & Experience
Incfile: Incfile was founded in 2004, and they’ve formed over 150,000 businesses since then. Customer reviews are a major strength for them, as they have thousands of positive reviews across the web, and just a small handful of negative feedback.
Incorporate.com: Incorporate.com certainly has plenty of experience, as they’ve been around since way back in 1899. Since then, they’ve helped form over 750,000 corporations and LLCs, which makes them one of the industry leaders when it comes to both longevity and customer volume.
However, despite being in business since the 19th century and boasting nearly a million customers, there is very little customer feedback available online for Incorporate.com. We found just a couple dozen reviews on third-party review sites, and almost all of them were negative.
Winner = Incfile
Incorporate.com has more longevity, and they’ve also formed more businesses than Incfile has. However, Incfile has fantastic customer feedback, whereas Incorporate.com only has a few reviews and they’re mostly negative. Another fairly easy win for Incfile.
Customer Service Comparison
Incfile: Incfile offers phone and email support, which we tested. When we used their phone support, our call was answered quickly and our question was answered, but not elaborated upon. We also emailed them with the same question after-hours and our email was answered by 10 a.m. the next day, with more details than we received over the phone.
Incorporate.com: Incorporate.com offers phone, email, and chat support. Their response times are pretty quick, and when we reached out through all three of these options, their representatives were friendly, and answered our question thoroughly while also providing additional information. If you want the fastest support from Incorporate.com, we would recommend using their phone or chat functions, as the email response did take them around 24 hours.
Winner = Tie
These companies both offer excellent support. While Incfile has more of a reputation for quality support via their customer reviews, we really like Incorporate.com’s chat feature. Since they each have an advantage over the other, and everything else is roughly equal, we’ll call this category a tie.
Ease of Use
Incfile: As you walk through the process of signing up for Incfile, your steps are personalized based on the state you live in and the type of business you wish to establish. There are even little question marks and hyperlinks throughout the application to learn more about a specific question or entry on the form. There are a few upsells to navigate through, but if you opt into any of them, your total price is immediately updated on the screen. There are never any surprises with Incfile.
Incorporate.com: It’s quite simple to form your business with Incorporate.com, although their pricing page is a bit misleading. Two of their listed features (the CSCNavigator compliance tool, and the annual report service) are only available to customers who purchase registered agent separately, and there’s a series of seven upsells as you navigate the application itself. Still, since their website has a very clean design, it was easy to find where to place an order and navigate through to the payment page.
Winner = Incfile
Both of these services are quite easy to use, but the fact that Incorporate.com’s packages are so misleading and hard to understand means this category is another win for Incfile.
Speed of Formation
Incfile: Incfile guarantees that every LLC or corporation formation will be processed and forwarded to your state of formation within one business day. Many competitors make you pay an additional fee to get next-day processing. If you need your business formed in a hurry, Incfile offers the ability to order expedited state processing for an additional fee (determined by your state), or you can purchase their Platinum package which includes expedited service.
Incorporate.com: When you reach the bottom of your order form, Incorporate.com gives you detailed turnaround time estimates for both standard and expedited processing. It’s nice to see this level of transparency when it comes to the expected length of time for your formation.
Incorporate.com doesn’t commit to a same-day or overnight turnaround like some other services do. However, they said that they file ASAP once all of the information they need from the business owner is provided, which is a fair response.
Winner = Tie
These companies have very similar turnaround times in most states, so this category is definitely a toss-up.
The most important deciding factor between these two service providers is the fact that Incfile offers more features than Incorporate.com does, and at much lower prices. Does anything else really matter when the value proposition is this skewed in Incfile’s favor?
While Incorporate.com does form companies quickly, and they also have good customer support, Incfile is their equal in those areas, and also beats them soundly when it comes to customer feedback. All told, Incfile is a better choice for the vast majority of our readers in several different ways.
